Azoth

Azoth, also known as the Universal Solvent, Universal Cure, and Elixir of Life (elixir vitae), is said to embody all medicines, as well as the first principles of all other substances. Azoth is the essential agent of transformation in alchemy, the animating spirit hidden in all matter that makes transmutation possible.

The word Azoth is also related to the Ain Soph (ultimate substance) of the Kabbalah. 
This illustration is the fourth woodcut from Basil Valentine’s Azoth, printed in 1613 and shows the unification of Sun and Moon. This symbol is also an early Caduceus.

About Our Shirts

These are the softest, most comfortable shirts you’ll ever find. They are of 100% Egyptian cotton with no abrasive plastic fibers (like polyester or nylon) to irritate your skin

Egyptian Cotton and regular cotton come from different plants. Egyptian cotton comes from a special species of cotton plant only grown in a few areas of the world. The rich soil and the climate conditions with the moist air of the Nile River Valley in Egypt help produce fibers longer than any other cotton. It produces extra long, silky fibers that results in a luxurious yarn that is stronger, more durable. There are fewer splices and few fiber ends protruding from the yarn, which adds to comfort and longer wear and virtually eliminates pilling. 

Compare this with regular cotton that has shorter and coarser fibers. Since, the fibers are short their yarn ends up having a lot of splices. So once the yarn is woven into a cloth, it is not as comfortable as Egyptian cotton. Also, this coarse nature of the fabric ends up making regular cotton less durable and less resistant to the abrasion of normal wear. 

The Egyptian cotton fibers can be spun thinner into very fine yarn, making it softer and more lustrous than regular cotton. 

And Egyptian cotton is a lot more porous that regular cotton. This lets the fabric ‘breath’ and helps it soak up moisture a lot more than regular cotton. 

The quality construction and strong fabric of our shirts will last you for many very comfortable years. 

Our shirts are manufactured in a facility certified by WRAP as safe, lawful, humane and ethical.

All our shirts have been specially washed, which gives them their very soft texture, and pre-shrinks them. As with all jersey garments, however, they may shrink a little in the wash and stretch a little during wear. Shirts are best washed in cold water and tumbled dry on low heat.
